Two new websites help lovers of American history ‘s iconic destinations to explore in depth the past. Historic Hotels of America allows travelers to register their stay in places with historical significance.

Historic American HotelThe Omni Parker House in Boston, for example, is a hotel in which every U.S. president since Ulysses S. Grant has hosted at least once. It was also the place where it started the Parker House Roll, whose recipe remained secret until 1933, when Franklin Roosevelt asked for a dinner at the White House.

There are several options to make the reservation, a map that lets you search sites conveniently located, with 39 different architectural styles, 15 different types of properties and local events, activities and museums, in addition to more than 235 hotels.

Gozaic is another site created by National Trust for Historic Preservation. In part it is a social network that connects people with the same tourist interests. Fans of the Civil War, or those interested in tourism along the railroad tracks will find their discussion circles, plus the ability to access a list of upcoming cultural events.
